I made a last minute decision to go to Java to visit my relatives . My dad was originally from East Java. So many of my relatives from his side still reside around here in East Java. Especially in Sidoarjo area. The last time I was here was in 2015 with my mom. I am glad I made that trip. It’s one of my last memories of being with her.

First stop… Sidoarjo!

I am on my way to Jakarta. After I spent couple of days in Surabaya-Sidoarjo area, I booked a train ticket from Surabaya to Jakarta. Being a solo traveler this time, I’d love to reminisce my old time memories. I boarded the Semeru train from Gubeng station. On time! Impressive. I purchased a seat in an executive car for around $54 one way. The seat is comfortable and clean. The most important one is the lavatory is also clean and maintained. Very affordable. I am enjoying this so far. I hope someday I could bring the rest of my family with me.
