City of Makassar

Day 6!

My sister, Amenk and I were just driving around the crowded city. Iโ€™m amazed how different the city looks since I left here 27 years ago. There are plenty of new malls, new hotels, new restaurants, new cafes, new โ€œCityโ€โ€ฆ CPI, Center Point of Indonesia. Thereโ€™s no doubt, that the city of Makassar is growing rapidly. Itโ€™s a great travel destination, especially for foodies like me โ˜บ๏ธ

What makes me sad is the city is very dirty. There are trash every where. People donโ€™t have the awareness to keep Makassar clean. I hope they can change that.

We went to mamaโ€™s favorite โ€œbreakfastโ€ place in the city. They have the best โ€œyellow riceโ€ dish in my opinion.

Day 7!

Itโ€™s hard getting up this morning. Iโ€™m missing my babies back home. But Iโ€™m fortunate that I got to FaceTime them 2/3 times a day. Thank you technology.

Going to the mall becomes a routine here. Because of the extreme heat lately, the electric company has been turning off the power almost every day for few hours at a time! So where do people go to cool off? Theyโ€™re going to the mall ๐Ÿ˜Š

Iโ€™ve been enjoying quality time with my sister. I thank God I still have the opportunity to see her and her family. Iโ€™m just heartbroken that I canโ€™t see my mama anymore. Iโ€™m sorry mama ๐Ÿ˜ข Youโ€™re always in our hearts and will be forever missed.

Day 8!

Happy Sunday everyone, except Miami and itโ€™s fans.

Today weโ€™re just hanging out at home. Nawir, a friend of the family bought some fish to grill at home. So good! This is what Iโ€™ve been missing. Hanging out with friends and family, talk about nothing, and enjoying food and drinks together. Iโ€™m feeling blessed, ya Allahโ€ฆ
